Darja`s interview is on our Facebook page here

How did you meet with Darja?
I met Dasha in the summer camp Vihasoo. I was a child in the camp and she was a leader of the period.

What was your first impression?
My first impression was positive. She was very bright, beautiful and funny. I immediately wanted to talk with her and find common topics.

What did you find interesting?
This person gave to me a lot. She is interesting absolutely in everything. Dasha has achieved a lot of success. She is able to do everything and everywhere. The biggest success in her life is that she is doing what she likes and does everything with a deep love.

What did you think at the end of the talk?
Every time when I have talk with Dasha, I find inspiration for myself. After talking with her it seems to me that nothing is impossible and everything is in your hands. Dasha for me is a supporter, mastermind, critic, mentor and the most important for me that she is my friend. I wish to every human being able to have this kind of friend as I have. I am very glad to have met with Dasha.

I have met Victor during the autumn sub urban camp meeting. He was very creative and suggested different kinds of activity for youth in the camp Vihasoo.

Where did it happened?
The meeting was held in the NGO Youth Club Active centre, Tallinn, Estonia (address Võru 11)

What was your first impression?
I thought that he was a bit strange, but he had very interesting ideas all the time.

What did you find interesting?
For me the most interesting moment was when he actually started sharing his ideas. They were non-formal, unusual and fresh.

What did you think at the end of the talk?
At the end of the talk, I realised that he was a person with great imagination and his enthusiasm was contagious in the good way.

PEOPLE WHO INSPIRE US

Elena's interview is on our Facebook page here

Hey. My name is Lisa Galkina and I am representative of Youth Club Active organization and participant of the project "Social Innovation".
For the rubric "People who inspired us," I have chosen Christina Peetlalu.

-How did you meet with Christina?

Liza: I know Christina from childhood, because our mothers are very good friends.

-What was your first impression?

Liza:Before the first class I didn’t think about it like that, but everything changed during this year, when I have participated in the project "Tallinna lapsed" (Children of Tallinn), where Christina was the project coordinator.

-What did you find interesting?

Liza: At that moment I started to think: How she can manage everything? How she can cope with all of the difficulties? What motivates her?
Till that day I am continue surprising and delighting by her!
Christine always says smart and interesting things, but the most important that she inspires me by her example, as she is active, persistent and positive. She was deprived of the opportunity to walk and see, but she leads an incredibly active life. She is involved in many projects and also leading them by herself. I believe that many people can learn a lot from her.

-What did you think at the end of the talk?

Liza: After meeting with Christine, my perception of the moral values changed. I began to notice people with any special needs and become closer to this topic. I wish the same to everyone!

Elena's interview is on our Facebook page here

- How did you meet Elena?
Iva: I met Elena on the ocassion of an international seminar Empowering Youth To Become Social Innovators” in Brno. She held an animation workshop that we went to.

- Where did it happen?
Iva: The workshop was held in a local movie theatre called KinoArt in Brno. They have a film club, Gallery Art, Cafe Art and a special workshop about animation there.

- What was your first impression?
Iva: I thought she was a person of my age. She seemed very shy.

- What did you find interesting?
Iva: For me the most interesting moment probably was when she spoke about her work with children and described their process of creating an animation – unlike grown-ups they have no borders and don't care about unimportant things. They just care about the best way to share their ideas.

- What did you think at the end of the talk?
Iva: During the workshop we were (unfortunately) too busy with making animations, so there wasn’t enough time for a chat with Elena. Anyway, I was still very happy to meet someone like her and I think, that every person who completes this course lead by her falls in love with animation and starts to understand its importance in the world of communication.

Lenka's story on our Facebook page here

- How did you meet Lenka?
Kuba: I met the lady on the ocassion of an international seminar Empowering Youth To Become Social Innovators” in Brno. A talk with Lenka was a part of the seminar programme.

- Where did it happen?
Iva: It was in a cool cafe called "Bajkazyl" which is an alternative cultural space built on a railway viaduct – the place thrives with a powerful cultural scene, also offering screenings and concerts, while running a bicycle workshop as a part of a youth rehab programme. If hungry, you can choose from a vegan menu and delicious drinks.
Kuba: There are also concerts of different music genres.

- When meeting Lenka, what did you think on first sight?
Kuba: The only thing I knew before meeting her was the fact that she was on a wheelchair. You can imagine all of the thoughts that ran through my head. During the talk, though, I found out she was really cool.
Iva: When I saw Lenka for the first time I had to think of how tiny she was. I didn´t see her standing up but she was not bigger than a kid, I guess. Sitting on her wheelchair, while she was talking about her life, she grew bigger and bigger in my eyes – just like the rest of us. You know, when you see someone with a disability, you feel obliged to help, but you are not really sure if the offer won't offend them, you don't want to look stupid. But the disabled are not that much different. They know how to speak with others and how to ask for help.

- What did you find interesting?
Iva: Lenka talked about her life – she had a dream to become a dressmaker but her parents wanted her to have an office work. She also talked about the life with her disability; about how fast she can ride her wheelchair and how often she asks her neighbours to come and hand her something from a shelf. She then talked about her dreams, how she founded an association helping the disabled. She did it from scratch, this tiny lady. Now, that association is big and well known and Lenka´s dreams have materialised. Lenka now meets celebrities and her work makes people around her happier. Tell me, how many people with no disabilities are that successful?
Kuba: Lenka talked about her life and then we could write questions to her on slips of paper. I found one moment unfair – Lenka described her experience before her husband and she bought a car: she had to use public transport but sometimes, the drivers did not want to take her on.

- What did you think at the end of the talk?
Kuba: I felt sorry for Lenka having to live with her disability but at the same time I realised that on the contrary, she is quite a jolly person. I had a feeling that she had come to terms with her disability and I wish her all the best of luck.
Iva: I had to think about my life, various possibilities around me and what I am actually able to do for other people. I could see the relativity of our own barriers: we may build them ourselves just because of having fears.. but what most of us can do is just to get rid of them – I believe that if we are not able to do that, there is always somebody who can help us. Similarly as Lenka - she had to do most of the work. On the other hand, thouse people around her were equally important – without them, she wouldn´t be able to leave the office work and look for a job she would like. That´ s exactly the point – there will always be somebody who has similar goals, dreams. And if their dream will be sufficiantly powerful, you can do whatever you want, united, no matter of hight or age.
